My Mission: Why I Photograph Dancers
I loved ballet but I never really had the photographs to show what I loved: big jumps. Tour jetes, grand jetes – they were my favorite part of class.
Photographing a dancer mid-air in an exuberant grand jete makes my heart sing. Any dancer with that level of mastery deserves to have prints of herself in vivid motion.
Dancers train & train in front of mirrors, but never catch a glimpse of how we see them soaring. My mission is to capture a dancer’s expressions & beauty in a way she can someday show her children and grandchildren.
My background in Dance
I fell in love with the grace and form of ballet at a young age. I had formal ballet training for over 11 years.
While I’ve retired my pointe shoes, I understand lines, turnout, and movement, and and I use that background to capture those perfect moments. I love capturing dancers for auditions, senior portraits, and for preserving their beauty and magic for all time.
When I’m not photographing dancers, I’m making people laugh at improv shows with my friends in Ogden, or hiking some of our amazing Utah trails. I love coffee, reading, and Marvel movies.
I’m based in Brigham City, and I meet clients in Salt Lake City, Layton, Ogden, & other locations convenient to them.
